A water Self-sustaining beach community in california

Climate change is having a huge impact on this creative, unique, generous little city.

If plan you on visiting here and staying in a hotel or renting a beach cottage, great, enjoy your stay. But, be aware that all the water we have to use comes from the surrounding Santa Cruz mountains, not the Sierras like the rest of the state.

If it doesn't rain in Santa Cruz, we have nothing to drink.

You need to know that those of us who live here are on a mandatory 25% cut in water usage and that includes you too.  I ask you to not ignore the water warning notices when you visit, and really take care to conserve our water.

We will pick up your beach trash after you leave, but we can't put the water back that you wasted.
